Looking for a new wheel cleaner to try

So far I've used both 4* Wheel Gel and also P21 gel and I've had great results. I'm just wondering what other products there were out there that you folks like to use as well. I'm mainly looking for the non acidic because I do have a lot clients who have exotics and acidic based wheel cleaners can effect the breaks. Any suggestions would be great! Thanks!

I've used DP wheel gel cleaner with great results :) although for really badly baked brake dust I have to go to P21S and lay the wheels in the garage and let them soak in the wheel cleaner solution.. That's if they were really neglected and never clean in its entire life.

Have you considered Eagle One All Wheel & Tire Cleaner? It's formerly known as their A to Z cleaner. I don't know how it affects brakes and special finishes, but it seems to work really well on clearcoated wheels and I believe is an alkaline cleaner.

Lab, get yourself a gallon of FK1's wheel cleaner - - it yields 6 gallons and is similar to P21S. It's also very gentle.

Enjoy!

My brother uses Eagle one and loves it.

I found some Dupont wheel cleaner on sale and it seems to do a great job, but I wont buy it again.

I usually just use a dedicated bucket with megs DC soap in it for the rims. My rims are never dirty since I use ceramic pads, so I treat them just like I do the paint.

You ever try Megs All wheel cleaner? I like it b/c you can find it at walmart. Seems to do a great job too.

Is Mother's FX Wheel Cleaner acidic? I use it and I am happy with it, but not sure if it is acidic.

Price on that and any idea where I can get it? I have a few exotics coming up and for winter storage the rims need to be pristine as I'm sure you can imagine what 5+ months of storage under a cover can do to dirty rims

I use Surf City Beyond Steel.. I like the fact that it is "strong" and it is safe for all finishes...

To give you an idea of what I consider "strong" my previous go to wheel cleaner was Amazing Roll Off...

Why wouldn't you buy the Teflon wheel cleaner again? Was it that bad?

I just bought 4 bottles on sale at Lowe's for $0.97 each.

I've got a bottle of FX here, as I have used it every once in a while on my factory clearcoated wheels -- about every 3rd wash.

On the back label it says it "contains oxalic acid," which is generally considered the "safe for all wheels including clearcoats" type of acid -- as opposed to the type of acid you'd use on a chrome wheel, which isn't safe for anything but chrome.

Another vote for the FK1 221-D Wheel Cleaner $25/gallon. Its a citrus based concentrate safe for all wheel types. Mix 4:1 for heavy cleaning jobs and 10:1 for light duty cleaning. I keep a bottle of both mixed up. A gallon will last a long time and its the most economical wheel cleaner I have found that doesn't rely on heavy causitc or acidic chemicals. It does not seem to bother your skin like many other I have tried.

i use Megs detailer line wheel cleaner, but only for really bad rims. otherwise I just use Megs Super Degreaser, or APC for the relatively clean wheels.

I like Griot's wheel cleaner. It's really gentle but effective with a little agitation with the included yellow sponge.

It's a tie as my favorite with P21S Gel.
