Looking for a new vac, comments!

My dad was about to get the interior cleaned when I told him we should invest the money in a good shopvac instead. It would be much better in the long run in terms of saving money, and have regular cleaning (first time he's thought of getting the interior cleaned in 3 - 4 years).

I have my eyes on a Rigid 60 Litre Detachable Blower Wet/Dry Vacuum. (16 Gallon) 6.5 HP 265MPH blower. It's selling for 179.99 Canadian at Home Depot which is a bit steep but it seems like the only thing decent there on the website.

You guys think this will be good for my detailing needs?

i picked up a ridgid wd4550 for $100cdn at home depot (last one)
12 gallon 5hp and imo 60 gallons is overkill, i can do 2-3 cars with this thing and it won't be anywhere near full

i also like the toolbox-esque design, very compact, all the hoses/attachments fit inside and i can shove it in my trunk along with all my other gear when i go out
i dont like those vacs on wheels, when you're pulling around the hose or working on an incline there's the danger of it rolling around and smacking the car

The blue and gray shop vac at Lowes like above are great. I used one for many years. I loved it except one I had was big. I'm mobile and dragging it in and out (especially when it was filled) was getting old. I switched to one similar to fuzzydd (wd4050) and it's perfect for me. It's not quite as strong as my old vacuum but it's close enough and a joy to move around.

I looked at one TexasTB linked to and would have got that one if they had it in the stores here. I looked for it when I bought mine but couldn't find it and didn't want to order one.

Yea, it is the only one I found that has power, is small, and has a long cord. Three things I was looking for.

go to home depot buy any ridgid vac $69 and up, ( I bought the 12gal 5hp model) and somewhere around the shelves should be a stack of mail in rebate forms. The rebate is for a $40 Home Depot Gift Card. So basically you get a great vac for around 30bucks (or more depending on which one you get).

Hullo. I have a 4.5hp ShopVac & a 6hp Rigid, and I prefer the ShopVac because of the 1 1/4" hose. I use the Rigid with an attachment similar to steam cleaners for extracting shampoo, but not for detailing clean.
I would love a small, 2-3 gal tank with a 5-6 hp 1 1/4" hose and a whack of attachments. My dream.
