Looking for a Glaze Product

I understand that as a first time weekend detailer I need a good DA polisher such as Porter or Griots.

I know that I need 1 or 2 good polishes (I see lots of recommendations on this board so this should not be an issue).

But I also know that I'd like to have a GLAZE product in my car-care arsenal for my 2 month old black car. Is anyone using a glaze that they are happy with? I'd also like to be able to use a LSP such as BF WDAFPP, BF CS or Opti-Seal.

I've been reading about:
* Opti GPS (Glaze, Polish and Sealant)
* Prima Amigo
* CG Black Light & Wet Mirror Finish
* PB World Black Hole

Initally I'll be using the product by hand. I also understand that all of the products listed above have their limitations and that I may not be satisfied with the results.

Thanks,
Jim

I was very impressed with BF Total Polish and Seal and the finish I was able to achieve using a porter cable da with lcc hydrotec tangerine pad. I was looking for something quick and easy to achieve good results and keep the cost and time to a minimum because I just maintain my daily drive.

Jim here are my thoughts.

PB Black hole: This is an ok glaze. It leaves a nice finish but doesn't fill as much I thought it should.

CG Wet Mirror: This glaze is very oily and being so I would only use it under nuba waxes. It does really lend itself well to sealants. I would go with blacklight or Glossworkz glaze.

GPS: It is more of a polish than glaze in my limited experience with it. It cleans and darkens the paint leaving some protection.

Amigo: amigo is my favorite glaze. It can cut and remove 3000 grit scratches with the right pad, but also fill like crazy. It darkens the paint and leaves a slick finish. It also works well with sealants.

Guys,

Thanks for your input.

I'm starting to think that maybe I should start with the BF line of products and forget the glaze for now. Until I get a DA polisher I suspect a glaze will not do much that the BF product line can't do for me.

I think I'll consider, in this order the Flex, Porter or Griots dual action polisher and play with TPnS until I know what I'm doing. Then I can add some additional polishes as needed. I'll do a search here and on Autogeek to learn more about each DA polisher and then weigh the pros and cons of each before making my purchase.

If I get my washing and drying down to a science with the right mf towels my new black car may not need much correction during the year.

Its great to have a forum like this where users give their opinions and suggestions based on "their" real world expereince. Can't ask for more.

Blackfire makes a nice Glaze/Gloss Enhancing Polish

The Griot's Garage 6" Orbital Polisher is a good machine

If you are going to apply under BFWD I would suggest BF Gloss Enhancing Polish or Sonus Swirl Buster (works really well and I ZERO bonding issues).

I just used CG Blacklight this past weekend and topped with BFWD. I used it to prep my black 350Z for a club meet. It's a great combo !!!!
