Looking for a Foam Sprayer/Sudser? Here's one for $20!!!

I'm trying to understand the make foam theory.

I put some NXT in a bucket take my hose and blast the soap in the bottom of bucket, suds like crazy.

Foam? Suds? whats the difference?

I would think that a decent amount of water pressure and adding soap to the mixture you would make Foam, or maybe just Suds? I'm comfused. :nixweiss

Is foam a finer type of sud? carring less water and more soap and air? or maybe less water, less soap, and lots more air?

If you mean the $20 to $30 one they are on Ebay right now. If you mean the kind Accumulator and I have, it's a lot harder to get online and I'd say $72 for it that Auto Magic wants is too steep. I got mine locally.

Suds, foam, same thing but foam from the gun is more of the same.

They're both bubbles, just air mixed with the solution. Suds in a bucket sit on top of the liquid. When you pull your mitt from the bucket you're mostly getting liquid solution and splashing it on the surface.

The foam gun crams an awful lot more air into the solution (unlike the Ortho garden sprayer) so when it lays down on the surface the volume is mostly air. This makes it very light and the surface tension of the soap makes it to cling to the surface. Without all the air the solution would be heavy and just sheet off, leaving a very thin film with less solution to lubricate the mitt and encapsulate the dirt.

Anyone know where to buy ONE of these new foam guns?
The big question is whether this new nozzle will make foam like Accumulator's and Bill's or just solution like the Ortho.

This new sprayer is from HoseCoil, which is a division of Ocean Equipment, which markets its products primarily to the boating industry.

Ocean Equipment lists dealers on their website.

I ordered one from my local boat shop, West Marine, when/if it comes in I'll post a review.

Looks like it is also available from Brookstone .

i would say the simple green version is the real deal?.i emailed them about three weeks ago about the foamer but im still waiting for a reply ,the hose coil sprayer (though looks a good purchase) simply mixes water & product using a standard multi spraying head producing more of a froth than a thick foam,i have an similar gun at home, usefull but it aint no true foamer as said before it"s in the nozzle!

I was just curious I have a 2400psi power washer, That I mosly used to clean up outside stuff. I just saw this Article and was wondering if a foamer attachment was available for mine? Here the link:

I also found this NPD Products makes foamers.

They also make this type not as nice as the auto magic one, but looks like it works, check out the photo's in this pdf. Clink on the one that says "New Power Foamer".

That brush part kinda horrifies me :scared I don't see the foam like mine, being produced. I use the kind I have on my hose to create foam to keep the finish constantly lubricated as well as cleaning well. Nevertheless, your idea might be worth a shot . Seems like you're just going to have to see how you like it.

You'll probably have to contact ther mfr of your power washer to see if a foamer is available

Hi Bill just couldn't let you have all the foaming fun:cool: . For anyone that wants to buy one here is a link where I got mine.

Foam Gun

The HoseCoil sprayer reminds me of the Simoniz washer/sprayer they had out a few years ago.

Take a look and notice where the bottle for the soap goes, and then re-look at the HoseCoil

Simoniz Me Please

Here are a few Pics of My foamer in use. I did take the Hand sprayer off of it, but I did attach a full port ball valve. Still on/off but more water:

OI812,

Good to see you here too! :up

And thanks for compiling all those great pics over here as well :)

just been on the phone to simplegreen about there Multi-Dilution Foamer,i explained what i wanted it for( producing a thick foam from a carsoap/water mix) he replied saying that this foamer will do exactly that & will do it very well.anyway one's in the post for me:)

Do any of these foamers allow you to set the dilution ratio at different levels? Do they indicate what the dilution ratio is eg. 1oz to a gallon? I use several wash soaps, some of which are very concentrated, it might be useful to measure and set the correct dilution ratio for each soap.

Thanks,

Yes it does, the sliding brass slot adjuster adjusts to the ratio you want and the ratios are printed on the bottle.
