Looking for a detailer in the chicago land area

He just sounds like an idiot, who would do a full paint correction and an interior for $200.

I charge $150 to simply clay, apply a cleaner wax with my PC and detail the interior. Thats on a small car as well.

you guys....... whats going on.

I am just trying to give a possible customer a little of a break, not start a price war.

Maybe you dont understand whats going on, I am extremely passionate about what I do.

I understand that a good detail involves hours upon hours of proper correction. Thats all I do.

So what do you get for 250 dollars? Likely you get a rushed job that takes less hours or you get somebody who is learning on your car. By using glazes, oils, and filler heavy polishes the detailer may get the polishing done in half the time.
Not true at all. I use products like menzerna and the meguiars twins to complete my work and IPA frequently. I dont want to come off as the guy down the block that uses those cheap glazes to fill swirls and spiders. My work is truly professional just like the rest of ya.

Take it or leave it, my prices are what they are and thats that. I would never in a million years bash any of you guys if you told me how much you made/car.

I was trying to educate the consumer/op, not bash you at all. If you believe that you have all the experience you need to do professional work (like the rest of us) and can offer a great value at 250 dollars, then great. The market will dictate the value. :2thumbs:

Nushine I see your point. We have all done jobs for less than what is worth, especially if you are just starting out. If you give the guy a great detail for 200 bucks than good for him and good for you for having 200 dollars in your pocket. I understand the whole "it's 200 dollars I didn't have before". But the thing is that we are constantly fighting against the 99 dollar total package guys that hack up cars. Autopia is filled with the exact opposite. So to see someone advertising a dollar amount such as yours on this website kind of strikes a chord with a lot of us.

I have not mentioned one thing about your service or the kind of job you can do. Just wanted to put my two cents into one of the problems with the market we face. So best of luck to you Nushine and hopefull this will lead to more customers willing to pay the price you want to charge.

Can you please PM me a price for a 92 BMW 525i, full paint correction plus interior?

I'm flying down to Arizona late May and buying a new daily driver and I'm sure it needs some work that I'm too busy to do.

here are a couple pics of a few cars i have done the black mustang and the red supra all had what i call minor swirl marks.

i know you mentioned in the post here you have your own products. thats nice and all but just so you know when you are paying for a detail you are not paying for product well maybe 5% of price is to cover product the other 95% you are paying for the detailers expierence and knowledge. so having your own product wont really cut down on the price.
