Looking for a detailer in Rochester, NY

is there anyone in the Buffalo/Rochester/Syracuse area that does detailing? I have an '02 Black Jetta that is decent, but could use some help. Thanks!

Brendan, that is a very good question. I believe Delta Sonic at Greece location is the only shop I know of in the Rochester area. Pretty sad.

Well, this is a long shot, but if you guys are unable to find anyone I'm in Niagara Falls, ON one weekend every month. Sorry I can't be of more help - there must be someone locally who can help you out.

Morbid: Where in Greece? I grew up 23+ years in Greece. Moved out to W. Henrietta, where I am now.

Off Long Pond between Vintage and English RD. Actually I'm the reverse. I moved to Rochester in '97 to go to RIT and was therefore living in Henrietta not to far from Campus.



Probelm was I graduated in '01 and couldn't find a job out West where I wanted to go (read Tech Bubble Bursted). So they found out I wasn't registered for anymore classes and I had to move out of Campus housing and ended up here.



Wow so that's two Autopians in Rochester. It's becoming a movement :)
 
HAHA! I think I know your house! If you're on the west side closer to Vintage, I think I saw you working on your/a car. I remember thinking, he seems a little too obsessed with his car, perhaps an autopian! Of course, I could be wrong and you could be on the east side near where there used to be farm on the corner of Vintage and Long Pond (next to the computer repair house) or across from Carriage Glen Apts. Used to be horses and everything there. A little history for you to stun people with. The Greece Museum, that big white house off of Long Pond North of Latta used to be where Wegmans is now. I remember watching them move the house, that was interesting. Before all of those strip malls across from Wegmans, next to Ricci's there was an Agway Farm Market. Now I saw they are putting ANOTHER 2 banks on that corner. That makes it what now, 8-9 banks around there?



I lived (my parents just live there now) off of Latta on Willowood/Parkside. Take a right off of Long Pond onto Latta and its your first right. My Fiancee's parents live in Pine Brook Subdivision. We met in high school at Athena. That was hmm, 8 years ago I think. We get married on Sept 30.

Here here, and it's about time. Nope I'm actually in Carriage Glen, but you got the area down cold. If you were to stop by Carraige Glen and just ask "where's the guy cleaning his car all the time" they'll send you to me. Or tell you to look out where my Garage is :)



I'm actually trying to move from here, it's a nice area, quite and close to work, shopping, but the garages are way to small (I do autobody and painting too). Plus they are un-attached.



They sure are working that corner (Latta and Long Pond). I don't know what they are building across from Wegmans (next to the YMCA) but it's gonna be big cause they cleared alot of land a ways back.



Traffic on Long Pond is bad enough as it is.
 
wow, quite a few Rochestarians on here. Well my black car just has some minor swirling that drives me nuts. I am going to try some MPP on a LC orange pad followed by Megs #9 on white to remove any micromarring. I just worry about all the complaints of VW clear being hard. The swirls aren't bad..but I see them and know that the car can look better even thoguh everyone I know says my car is already clean.



I also bought a bottle of Mothers Reflections to apply by PC using a finishing pad.



Before I start my project though I am going to hit up Sears for some halogen lighting in my garage and some heavy duty big gauge extension cable. I will let you guys know how it turns out.
 
Just wanted to give a shout out to my fellow Rochestarians.....I live in Brighton and I love detailing....I drive the cleanest '00 Maxima in town.... If you ever want to set up a meet, let me know. Oh and by the way, I found out from ROC life that the stereo shop in Henrietta is having a huge car show the last week in June....supposed to be big...IASCA certified and everything. I'll keep you updated....
