Looking For a Detail in Seattle

Laurel

Or nearby. You don't even have to be professional, perhaps just a hobbyist with a PC and some good knowledge. The red paint on my 20 year old corvette is oxidized very badly and needs some love. My buffer blew up and I can't justify the cost of another one right now.

Any suggestions?

perhaps this could be you chance to become as addicted as the rest of us. :yay , if you want to get the oxidation off youself start with a good wash, clay, then work in somthing like klasse all in one, (it is good at removing oxidization) also you much want to give a swirl remover a try. I know your looking for someone else but this might be your new project

Wouldn't using the paint cleaner first be more effective? By removing the oxidation first you are preventing the clay from loading up with oxidized paint.

I've already tried Clay, meguiar's color x, scratch x, fine cut, and medium cut cleaner. I have quite an arsenal of detailing products, but don't have the time, tools, or expertise necessary to attack my corvette.

Did you work it in really really well. Both of those products have "diminishing abrasives" aka work them in till you arms fall off and then do 2 more applications!

Did you notice the clay change colour when you were claying like from White ->red?

I wish I could help you out love working on the older model Vettes, and can understand that you don't have the time nor feel you have the expertise to do it right.
