Well being that harbor freight is near me i decided to go over and pick up a 7in polisher made by chicago for 25$. I guess i will see what kinda damage i can do with this thing

I need to buy some pads for it also. Where is the cheapest place to get them?

Im going to practice on my old crunched up celica hood Then i'll move on to BWM's and stuff..you know

I purchased a variable speed orbital polisher from autozone for $50 and have enjoyed learning how to use it on my beater pickup. I was amazed as to how quickly I could burn paint using 2000 rpm and a mild polish. Lesson learned was keep the head moving.



It is fun to start a detail project with the orbital and then finish with the PC when the paint is bad since I use the PC most the time.



Plus, with the right plates and adaptors it is a very versatile tool to use in the shop.

This is a rotary polisher though..it just spins and isnt random at all. I guess they are good for heavier hazing and scratching. I will give it a try. I have a random orbital buffer also and it does pretty good with waxes and polishes but doesnt have the power or speed to do any damage.
