It ate away at all the polished metal on it, leaving it white. The wheels were literally smoking after spraying WB on them.

Doesn't really matter. We were testing it out, the wheels are getting painted gray soon. But man its amazing how it just ate threw it.
 
A good demostration here of the importance of using mild wheel cleaners on wheels with non-standard finishes. Wheel Brightener is very aggressive and a product I will only use on the dirtiest of wheels if and only if I am 110% sure its safe to do so.. It will also corrode chrome nuts, and turn some plastic wheel centres white.
 
i always use it 4:1 and the only thing that has happened to me is my chrome lug nuts on MY truck are corroded and rusty now...oh well....just a reason for new wheels

I noticed it even ate some of the lug nuts. Tough stuff.:lol :rolleyes:
 
It is because those are magnesium wheels, I used to work at a car wash, we had a guy come through with original Torque Thrust wheels, we totally ruined them with a wheel cleaner. Magnesium wheels need to be cleaned VERY carefully, especially if they are uncoated.



The wheels we ruined came out smelling and looking burnt.
 
'Aluminum Brightener' is a little misleading. It's meant for rough cast aluminum and does brighten it...my whitening it LOL



I made this mistake once on my bike wheels that have a polished lip. I also made the mistake of using Orange Degreaser on my polished cases
