Long day of detailing the Supra, but worth it.

Thank god you didnt call me about it. I did three black supra's in the last 2 months and dont ever want to see another one lol! Only 6 hours with the PC? Holy crap the last one I did took me 14 hours for the full exterior using my rotary! lol

That almost looks like product holograms/smearing. See if that buffs out with a QD/Microfiber, otherwise, incredible car, and amazing detail :woohoo:

First thing I thought too.

What a major improvement on those nasty halo swirls. :bow

street racing heritage maybe, but i cant think of too many competition supras out there like scca and stuff like that

I never really understood what the big deal about supras is. they are just like any other fast car.

That one however, is beautiful. good work

I started writing up an explanation why they are a big deal and why they are not just like any other fast car and then realized it would take too long so if you are really interested in reasons why posting that question on Supraforums.com and researching there is a good way to get an answer.

In the meantime let me just say that there are not many cars out there that are a match to properly done Supra, not even now, 10 years after it's production ended. Competition way back was even smaller. Once I drove one I was hooked and never went back.

Agreed Supra are very tunable and the motor is pretty much bulletproof. Just basic bolt on mods with stock turbos over 400HP is EASY

..sort of like an LS1, oh.. except it doesnt even have forced induction. throw a turbo on at 15psi and theres more than 800hp and single digits.

My friend just blew his NA Supra motor out hitting 115 for the first time.

All these years of wrenching i have learned one thing that always holds true....nothing is bullet proof.

IMHO, it's not just the engine, it's the whole platform together that makes it great. For example, I don't know many cars that do 0.98g skidpad stock out of factory like Supra. I don't know many sport cars I can actually fit in and not feel claustrophobic or not have my head pressing against the roof while in Supra I have tons of space around me. I don't know many sports cars whose aerodinamics and handling let you actually achieve advertised performance level. List can go on.

Kinda but not really. For start lets do apples to apples, whole car, not just engine, stock to stock, '93 Supra to say '93 Firebird. 325hp and 315 ft-lbs vs. 275hp and 325ft-lbs, and that's just to start. We could go on, but it could be summarized in we don't see many non-Corvette LS1s walking on Supras, and when I did see that happen it was always heavily tuned Corvette or non-LS1 Corvette with starting cost double or more of the Supra.

NA 2JZ (2JZ-GE) will blow only in the case of "user error", like running engine low on oil. Otherwise they last forever. 2JZ-GTE (turbo) will hold 500 (almost twice it's stock level) whole day every day on stock bottom end and some of them held long enough to dyno 1000+ on stock bottom end.

But we better end this thread drift.

Tell that to GSC Motorsports, who just got 3rd place in One Lap of America.
