Liquid Wax options?

If you can find them, the Viking Handi-Grip Applicators are fantastic. They have a knob that makes holding them really easy. The base is a soft foam that doesn't absorb much product.

Otherwise, it just takes practice getting those thin coats.
 
I'm not sure if you have a PC or any other type of power polisher, but I have grown fond of using my Cyclo and finish pads to apply LSP because I can get such a think layer down. I used to be 100% hand apply for LSP, but since I've gone to the Cyclo I use much less product, get a more uniform coat, and save some time (not to mention some energy).
 
IMO when it comes to liquid waxes there are two choices - Pinnacle Liquid Souveran and Collinite 845 IW. I've never seen a liquid give the slickness or dripping wet look LS gives, yet nothing seems to match the durability I've gotten from the 845. Maybe someone should try topping LS with the 845? I'm not too sure how that would work though, considering the scent of 845...LOL
 
Here's my take.

I applied half my hood with LS and the other with Clearkote CMW. I've done this alone and over Danase DWG..

LSis the very best to apply and remove. Like using slightly melted butter. Looks are nice, very slick to the touch but durability sucks. It's a true show car wax.

Clearkote CMW is a little more durable but definitely less slick. Its almost "grabby" in feel. I think I like the LS appearance better as well. But both are easy to use.

Haven't used either with a PC yet. Have some new red pads that I'm curious to try.

One other finding is DWG looked better than either on silver metallic. Extremely glossy, reflective and showed off the flakes better than either wax. Also very easy to apply. You can do the entire car and go back to buff off. I find myself reaching for the DWG more than waxes these days.

Honestly I really couldnt see much of a difference, the Clearkote may look just a hair more wet but the Natty's seemed to leave the paint just a little more slick.

CMW looks best on top of RMG,give it a try.
 
I mixed 75% 845 IW + 25% Liquid Souveran and I got great results in look and durability, worth to try.

I decided to try this mix yesterday. Needless to say, I love what I'm seeing:D

Just as a side note, there is no need to put more then one layer of wax on the car. All you are going to do it take off the layer and put a new one on.
A better idea if you want to keep your car looking it's best and keep it protected would be to put a layer on and then do a quick wash and wax every month with a complete detail every three months.

Of the products listed I would pick the Souveran but there is a part of me that still likes old #26. It is a pain when it comes to staining trim.
 
I like Griot's Best of Show liquid wax. Non-silicone, carnuba based. Produces a really deep shine, but it's a lot of work. A little goes a long way - put it on THIN and do a few coats. If you put it on too thick, you'll spend way too much time getting it off.

Whatever works, is worth it's cost! If something costs 15 bucks but the 25 dollar product works and looks better, it's worth the extra cost for me.

When it comes to waxes, it shouldn't be about the cheapest.

It seams "You get what you pay for" always applies!

Sorry for the late response, havent looked at these forums in awhile.

Overall I like the wax, it isnt the slickest wax, sort of has a grabby feel like mentioned earlier. But the durability has been great, its been almost 2 months now and my car still cleans up really easy and the water is still beading. Although my car is garage kept so that helps too.

I dont have any close up shots of the paint to really show off the reflection but here are a few I took about 2-3 weeks after I waxed it.

i can't personally speak for a lot of waxes mentioned but at sometime i'm gonna get around to trying ls, but i recently purchased and applied collonite insulator wax or liquid 845, and was very impressed with it's ease of use and the glossy finish, the next day i topped it with p21s and was further impressed. about a week later, and i can hear the responses now, i applyed cg's blitz sealant to the top of that just because and the finish came up even better, i think i'm gonna use this combo for shows. sorry i got off topic but my point was the insulator wax was really nice to work with and gave a nice finish.
 
My favorite is clearkote CMW. I can do the car fast and remove with a little QS.
845 and LS are good too.
