Lip in not so bad shape now...

Hey guys, I took the Saturday to try and shine up my wheels. I used Sonus polish with Mother's power cone. The results weren't too bad, considering this was my first time attempting something like this, all in all, I'm pretty pleased tho. Some of the really bad spots didn't come all the way out, but were just lightened. Dunno if I need more aggressive polish, more time on each spot...or if they're just not gonna come out.

Anyways, after the polished I put about 4 coats of Poorboy's sealant on them. Check em' out!

I also had a question about the Power Cone...How many uses are these things good for? Are they shot after the initial use, cuz if you guys think I can clear them up even more I'll give it another go, but I'd like to spare myself the cost of another cone if I can.

Thanks for lookin!

That looks like a nice turn around! Nice work!

As far as the Power Cone goes it is intended for consumer use, but they are pretty durable. Another go shouldn't hurt anything. Just keep it clean and it should be fine.

The lip looks really good enough to just ride like that. You will have just wasted a bunch of sealant, but I guess thats what some like to do here on DC! LOL

When you are done with using it, soak it in some water and oxyclean over night. It will remove most of the black polishing residue on it. Make sure it is completely dry next time you go to use it.

I would never use oxyclean on my car again. I was a beginer detailer who tried to oxyclean my hood 6 years ago. It made tons of swirls in the paint and made the paint fade to the primer of my red 244. So next summer i am going to take the task of repainting my hood myself. I am not sure how it would do on ur rims bpebzly.
