Lightning Red 2015 WRX - Americoat

This car is owned by a friend of mine from college. He contacted me a few months ago that he was purchasing a new car and would like me to go over it and put a coating on it. He decided on my Americoat Package. The car had roughly 2k miles on it and came in from the Williamsport area which is roughly an hour and half away. Onto the pictures now


AS THE CAR ARRIVED

WASH PROCESS

Getting ready to begin that wash process

First step is cleaning the wheels and tires

Using Sonax FE and Omni-Clean on the wheels and tires

Sonax FE breaking down the brake dust on the wheels

Applying the foam pre-soak with my foam lance

Foam dwelling on the front end to soften up any build up

After the pre-soak I started on the 2-bucket method wash

All washed up and ready to go in the garage


POLISHING PROCESS

The owner had request to have the rear badging removed

Tapped off for my first test spot, as you can see there are swirls on both sides of the tape

The car was then pulled outside and rinsed off then pulled back in and wiped down with Eraser to prep the surface for the coating


FINAL PRODUCT

Lots of gloss and depth after Americoat has been applied

This was a fun car to work on and the owner was very excited with the outcome and how the car looked.

What are your thoughts on Omniclean vs other APC's/Degreasers/Tire Cleaners you have experience with?

I really like Omni-clean, but it is some pretty nasty stuff. I learned pretty quick to wear a mask when spraying it as it is pretty nasty if you breathe it in. I was using Tuf-shine tires cleaner previous and feel that Omni does a better job as it seems to cling to the tire better.

Looks great. What are your thoughts on the new IAT?

I have used the 1500 and the 3000 a few different times now and really like it. I would say the 1500 works a lot like FG400 in that it has a pretty long work time and you get very little dust. The 3000 it seems like you could work forever. If you are looking for really quick cut though you will want to stick with Amerirocks.

Thanks. I have a nearly full bottle of Ameridepth and I will consider 3000 as a replacement in the future.
