Hi everyone,

Its about 1:06am in Los Angeles California and im writing this before I go to bed, gotta go to work tomorrow which sucks lol.

Lighting is a good source to look for swirls. I just wanted to know if there are any lighting equipment out there that are handheld. I dont want a lighting Equipment that comes with stands because space in my garage is limited as we use it for storage space. We have a tarp on our driveway that shades up two cars length.

I want a lighting equipment that I can hold on my hand and use it to look for swirls. Something that is not too small and not too big. Is this possible? Please provide some links and prices if you can. If its not possible, just let me know.

Also if you guys want, feel free to show me some pics of your lighting system. Thanks for the input!!!

I understand the need to conserve space. I am sorry to hear that you are unable to use a halogen light stand. They are great!

With that said here is an example of a halogen light that is hand held that might fit your purpose for size and portability.
Although one can find these cheaper it was one I could easily find just to give you a picture. It certainly will let you find swirls and marring.

Yea, one of those halogen lights would do the trick. I have 2 like that and two on stands with 2 sets of those lights. As mentioned the single ones can be found for about $10 at HOme Depot, Lowes and maybe even Sears... just look around.

PS- Nothing is better to look at swirls than the sunlight...

Have you tried using a flashlight with the garage door shut and the lights off? It does a reasonable job, doesn't cost much, or take up much space.

I'm not trying to sway you (yes, I am), but try the 'dark room' and a flashlight first. I think you'll be surprised and you won't have to spend a penny.

mgm,

thansk for the info. as i think about it, hmmm i can save money by trying a flashlight.

the one i have right now sucks so i might spend a bit for a stronger one. thanks for the info!
