light "wash" induced scratches, do I really need compound?

Here's a metallic Gray 540i that was "detailed" by someone else and had light swirls all over the vehicle.



Process: Optimum Compound + Festool in Random Orbit mode (similar to pc). Worked out light swirls and followed with a coat of AIO and a finish pad.

Mine doesn't look anywhere near that bad. I might try snapping some pictures if I pick up halogen lights.

I went ahead and ordered the pads and some OP. I figure I'll give that a shot and if I need to go more aggressive that can wait till spring. OP with some different pads sounds like it will lessen the scratches, at the least.
