Light swirl removal preference

Wax till your arms hurt
If you had light swirls on a car, which method would you choose?
#1 SSR1 with a LC orange pad (light cut) or
#2 SSR 2 with a LC white pad (polishing)

I have tried both and each seems to work, but just wanted everyone's feedback. Thanks
 
I'd say it depends on your definition of "light." I've seen some cars that just by driving by, with the sun's reflection moving along the body, made me cringe from all the marring, yet the owner (who just "detailed" it) thought it looked "better than new!" :rolleyes:
On my car, for light marring (from washing, dust/dirt hitting at highway speeds, etc.) SSR1 and a polishing pad work very well. I also tend to get less dusting with SSR1 than SSR2. SSR1 does tend to stain white pads, though, IME.
 
I'm with you Big Leegr. I've had so many people tell me "Oh, my car is not too bad." And then when I run my hand across the finish it is like sandpaper...ouch. My definition of light is just from regular washing/drying and everyday abuse of being left outside.

If that is the case then SSR1 with a light cutting pad would be my choice, then head for P-w-C with a polishing pad and finish by hand
 
I would stick to the SSR2 on a polishing pad and SSR2.5 on a polishing pad if they were deeper. :yes:

OH :ohmy: You wanted a reason to go with it ?:w00t:

I love SSR1 as a final polish or even a cleaning polish, but for removal of defects in the paint, I prefer to use a more aggressive aproach and get the work done faster :flowers:
