Life of products

Im wondering how long products last. Granted they are stored in a climate controlled area and not exposed to sun or heat. Basically stored in tubaware boxes inside a closet. Products are including waxes, polishes, glazes, etc. Anyone know why they wouldnt last a few yrs?

I'd say the majority of my products (except shampoos and some of those too) are at least five years old and some of 'em are from the 1980s. Shelf life simply isn't much of an issue IME as long as you keep the containers closed tightly and avoid freezing.

It takes me about 10 years to use up a can of Meg's #16, and the last bit is always just as good as when I first open it. And the last can spent years in shop that got to near freezing in the winter and over 100f in the summer...no problem at all.

give your products a good shake every month or so (if they are liquid form), to help keep it from seperating...

I store all of my products in a climate controlled area, except when mobile. It has worried me a little when my stuff is inside my vehicle and its 90F+ outside.

Heh heh, if I were to shake up all my products every week, or even every month, it'd be a full time job :D OK, OK..I'm exaggerating a bit.

It *is* a good idea though, don't get me wrong...fortunately it doesn't seem (*IME*) to be absolutely necessary.

haha yea I guess it could be somewhat proportional to your product amount... I had a bottle of Meg's #80 go bad after sitting for about 8 months straight, so now I go every 2 weeks or so and shake everything... maybe I just had a bad batch...

Wonder if yours *was* from a bad batch  My #80 is *old* and it still seems OK :nixweiss

Then I definitely had a bad one... I bought it sometime last summer, and it sat for roughly 8-9 months... idk I just threw it out and ordered a gallon
