LGCM & Carpet/Upholstry

Anyway, I vacuumed the mats three times, spot treated stains, vacuumed, sprayed resolve, waited, sprayed resolve again, gently brushed with a brush, vacuumed, LGM, vacuumed and....the carpet still looked dirty. I thought to myself these mats are so filthy they are going to stay darkish (tan colored mats). So I put them out in the sun to dry.

Then I thought, I would use the Resolve spray one more time, except this time I would use a white towel to "brush" and clean and voila, the dirt starting to come off...the towel was getting a dark brown color...kind of nasty. Here is my question though, how many times is one expected to spray resolve and wipe with a towel, it seemed like this could have gone all day, so after a while, I said good enough becaue I would never finish!

What could I have done better?

Grouse, as it pertains to the above, can you think of what I may have done better or is it like you implied that this was not a job that could have been done manually but needed a professional grade machine?
