Regular customer called me early last week, said he'd traded in his '08 RX350 and picked up a gently used RX450h that he wanted properly protected. He had a long commute and lets the dealer wash his SUV three to five times a week so he isn't interested in having it perfect, he just likes it really clean. Again, he went with the metallic white, from more than 3 feet away, you really aren't going to notice any swirls in it.
The Infiniti M37 was purchased new by the co-owner of the company the RX450h owner is a salesman for. He bought it back in October but the last few times I've been up there to take care of the Lexus for the other guy, he hasn't been in the office. He doesn't wash his nearly as often but when it does get washed, he just takes it somewhere, so again, the main focus was protecting the finish. While it was dirty, it was harder to wash than the level of dirt on the paint. That's when I noticed the lines near body seams, on the roof, etc. Just like the pearl Infiniti G37 I detailed a few weeks ago, the dealership took the plastic off the paint upon delivery but never made an attempt to remove the adhesive left behind. They did make sure they slapped their "Sewell" badge on the back of the trunk though. I made sure to remove that along with any adhesive left behind. On the plus side, the paint was about as swirl free as I've seen in a while.
Metallic white and Silver. Got an Alpine white BMW tomorrow, first black car this week won't be until Wednesday. Weird. Haven't touched a black car since the middle of last week!
ONR wash, Opti-Raser mild
Optimum Hyper Polish using an Optimum MF cutting pad and my Meguiars G110 v2 DA polisher
Optimum Opti-Seal
ONR wash and wax at 32:1 to clean windows
Armor All to dress tires/fenderwells
3D Trim Protectant to dress the trim on the RX450h
