Did you guys do the whole car?

Any full car pics?

How long did it take to work the PG with a wool pad on the PC?

From what I can see it looks very good!

it was repainted by a body shop. i have no idea of how they got the paint to look like that.

We worked the PG until it dusted and was almost gone.

Looks like they used a roller! LOL :spit:

Looks like you guys have some work ahead of you. It looks a lot better though! Do you have to do the entire car, or just the front end?

with that crappy paint and that level of OP, I would have recommended you started with 1200 grade sandpaper,,,maybe even a light round of 800 grade !!!!!

Body shop? Looks like they repainted it with matt paint.

Nice job on making it look the way paint should.

Wetsanding a large area like that, you'd be better off using a random orbital for more even and quicker sanding. Maybe next time.

I wetsanded my brothers LS400 for him and it was actually pretty painless as the factory paint is pretty damn good as far as orange peel goes. I just started with 2k grit and my buddy used his orbital and two other compounds which i dont know the name of offhand. We only did the larger flat surfaces (hood, trunk lid, etc.) as they were water spotted from him NEVER dryin his car after washing it in the desert heat. Go figure.

Looks like you guys are makin good progress on the crap paint that was on there befoer hand though.

The paint was garbage,.. some other pictures are even more hideous. We started wetsanding the hood at about 8pm at night and finished around 11pm, not too bad for our first real attempt. The 3000 grit sand marks were removed after two attempts via PC at speed 6, wool pad, menzerna power gloss, heavy pressure at a very slow pace.
