Lexus LS, Black Escalade and Sebring

Clean Dean

Keep it clean !!!
Detailed this 05 Lexus LS which was a recent trade in. I personally like the square body style of the old LS, and think that the newer style is too much like the BMW 7-Series for my taste. The interior seems to really hold up well in these cars, and still had that “like new look after a thorough clean and dress.

This morning started out with this 07 Caddie Escalade. The owner was mostly concerned with some carwash scratches and spider webbing that were cause by the local “hand wash. No 2 bucket method going on at this place. Regardless the soft Caddilac clear was cut with Hi-Temps HCL and followed by 3M Ultrafina. This vehicle was sealed with Klasse SG.

This 2000 Chrysler Sebring Convert was in desperate need of some TLC. The paint cleaned up nice afterwash and clay and a cut & buff w/ Hi Temps HCL followed by Ultrafina then sealed with Klasse SG. The interior needed some attention and came back nicely after about 2 hours of blood, sweat, and tears. Be careful under these Chrysler seats. The seat rails edges are razor sharp !!!

Looks great. The Escalade looks painful to work on due to its size. I don't get how some people can leave there car so dirty and filthy. I can't even stand if there's 2 pieces of grass on my floormat :). Good job! I have always heard good things about the Lexus LS, being one of the most smooth rides ever. I love the new LS460's though very slick looking.

All look awesome!

Love the old school usage of Klasse SG! Interior on the LS looks brand new! What are you using on the carpets/mats? They look great.

G35stilez,

I was cleaning out my garage about a month ago and found an unopened 32 oz. bottle of Klasse SG, and remembered that although the stuff is not the easiest to remove it really provides great protection and high gloss. At that same time I bought my wife a new (used) LS 430 in pearl white. I spent about 2 days bring it up to Autopian standards inside and out and also bought a new set of OEM chromed wheels. I wanted to seal the paint and wheels with something that will hold up to my wifes daily use, and Klasse SG seemed like the right plan of action. It has now been a month, and I love how slick the surface feels and how quickly the car cleans up with a light hand wash. So now I am on a bit of a KSG tear with customers cars. I go through streaks with sealants and waxes, and still hold quite a few in my arsenal ( Megs #20, Megs #21, Poorboys EX...).

As far as the interiors, I use a basic diluted APC a few scrub brushes and a shop vac. Tough stains I usually go after with Folex (I wonder where I heard of that product :chuckle:) or Oxyclean powder. I always follow up with my Mytee extractor with an extraction solution.

The floor mats usually follow this same treatment unless they are trashed. Then I pressure wash, scrub with APC, let dwell them pressure wash again. This is then followed with a thorough extraction with my Mytee.

Question. What did you use on the wood in those cars?

Sorry I missed that one.

First I cleaned the area around the wood with a diluted APC at 20:1 and compressed air and a small brush. Then I use a fine polish like Menzerna FP or 3M Ultrafina (did not need a more aggressive polishing). I then use a carnaubu spray wax on the wood in this case I used Four Star spray wax. I always finish a detail with the glass (Sprayaway) and then wipe down the interior wood last with the MF towels I used on the glass.

BTW, I am an absolute fanatic about center consoles, and my personal vehicles are always being cleaned almost daily. Just a pet peeve on mine like dirty wheel wells :wall.

Excellent. Thanks for the info, Dean.
