LeVernier's Custom Gloss Cream Auto Polish: 3 pictures

Basically, I'd like to see if anyone has heard of it before...We use this stuff at work (dealership), and I can't say that it is anything great. It cleans ok, and I suppose make a car shine, but it doesn't leave any remarkable protection or beading that I can tell. Its consistancy is rather thin, so I'm betting the solvent content is high, which would be the reason it can do a decent job cleaning. BTW, this stuff doesn't smell very good. Ugh. Here are some pictures

Geekysteve might recognize this address if I'm lucky...

Thats all...I'd like to see if this is another "Liquid Finish" or "Finish First" or whatever it is called, or something close to something else. Thanks,

Kevin

What the hell is it?

I can't imagine that it has many protective properties since it claims to contain "no wax". The directions of "apply liberally" make me doubt that it's a sealant.

I'm guessing that it's either some kind of pre-wax cleaner, or a filler-heavy glaze. Possibly some combination of both?

Sounds like something I might use if I wanted to do a really fast, half-assed, detail.

I have used this for years and it is GREAT stuff!

It is still being made and you can call them at 574-457-4133

why are both of your post in 2 years about this product?

why are you bumbing a 4 year old post?

Wow, this brings back memories from a while back. The product is nothing special. I don't work at the dealership anymore, thus it isn't readily available to me. And let me tell you, it is nothing I am going out of my way to get my hands on.

Nice to be back on Autopia. Take care all!

LeVernier's custom polish is what it says it is... a polish. It strips off old layers of wax and removes minor swirl marks and scratches. It has no protective qualities so I recommend a good quality wax. I use it twice through the summer months July and August, then again in October and April. Eaach time applying a quality wax after polishing.

...many years later...

The dealership where I used this stuff is now closed. GM shut them down during the automotive crisis. But it is a wonder why they had me use only this stuff on the cars. There were a number of things around there that didn't make a lot of sense. I'm not sure where they bought the stuff. It must have been through a distributor or something. Not something I've seen at any store, or even at the auto body supply shops.

Anyway, adios, until next time one of my ancient threads gets bumped. :)

And every time it gets bumped, it's by someone who is spamming about it.

I don't understand why someone doing that wouldn't just create their own thread?! Why bother digging up a thread that's half a decade old?
