Let's see your shop....

I forgot about this thread guess I'll throw my second home in the mix. This was before a few more things were added.

The waiting area some of the restoations and work. Working on framing more articles.

The wooden thing in the bottom left holds snacks and encases a fridge.

The magazine rack is full now. A client subscribes/buys 30 different magazines of cars and gives me the latest when done.

I was fortunate to receive a Kentucky Colonel comission and never had a place to display it. Now it has a home.

It seems a little small but will fit 6 average size vehicles at least its a start.
There is space for an Autopia banner (hint hint). A Ferrari logo is in the works along with others for the big walls.

John,

My jaw's hanging down now and I'm drooling like a goober....

Clean, white, and reflective. Plenty of room and all of it right at your fingertips....MAN what a gorgeous place....:bigups

Thanks Bobby. It was alot of work to get it to that point (2 1/2 months)
It was previously a metal fab and plating/painting operation. It only had the main walls painted. The floor and everything else was a mess. 2 weeks just to prep the floors and lots of pressure washing everywhere else in the middle of winter. The office and waiting area were not even finished. I didn't get too carried away because I need at least double the space for restoration work to be segregated from the clean area. Nice thig is the drain is plumbed for separation and water treatment and recovery.

Hopefully others post their work place to follow, here. I think it would help others on layout.

Some pictures from a few years ago when I had the shop built. I'm not a pro detailer, I just like to play in my garage.

This is my fathers shop that he built for me to use for cleaning his cars and my customers cars. It has a 5ton Trane heat/air unit, floor drain, interior water and hot water heater, air compressor, etc. I use it alot especially in the winter. My clients have the cleanest cars around b/c I can spend time on thier car in the heated garage, instead of doing a really quick(and cold) wash outside.

Lets see somemore pics!

i want this. is that loft? what's up there?

You have a great looking shop! I do have one question, what is that thing in the middle of the floor - A heater of some kind?- DealerDetailer

Its a kerosene heater. I was playing around with different BTU's of supplemental heat before opening. Wanted an idea of what to look for in a non-flame option.

Does that mean you can wear a white suit and make chicken?

I've only gotten as far as the goatee.:)

so my customers were a lil too comfortable with being here while i work & i started to get annoyed on the daily. then my friend gave me his dog & less people stayed. it has taken me a long time to get my customers to leave theyre car with me so i can work in peace.
well heres what this corner in the garage now looks like...i built it all for henny jane lol. now, nobody really chills here & i can get my work done. :rofl
i would say for a shop dog she has it pretty good. ;)
