Let's say you have $200 to spend on Amazon...

What do you buy? Thinking more along the lines of tools than products. A DA? An electric pressure washer? A cordless drill?

I recently opened a FirstBank account, and the gift for using the billpay service was a Kindle Fire HD, a bunch of different iPods, a $100 Visa prepaid card... or a $200 Amazon gift card. I took the gift card. I thought about selling my tablet, and buying the Google Nexus... but I'm thinking some detailing oriented product might do me better. So what would you get?

If you're short 30 bucks of the 200 and you don't have good ones already, you can find the Raceglaze brushes in a set of 5 on amazon.

What products do you have currently? If you don't have much, then you should start with the basics:

Bucket, grit guard, car wash soap, microfibers, clay, sealant/wax, wheel cleaner, brushes

The list goes on, polish, compound, machine, pads

I have the basics, though I lack a grit guard. I've been detailing my own cars for years, just doing it all by hand. I opted to go for the Griot's DA. I'll add a grit guard to the list.

Why 5" instead of 6"? I picked up some HF 6" pads today. They are on sale for $5 ea. The GG6 should be here tomorrow, and I'm doing a buddies car with it.

You'll get much better and quicker correction with 5 in BP and 5 1/2 pads. And when you pick up higher quality pads the 5 1/2 inch pads are cheaper as well.

Yeah, If you already have the stuff you might as well use it. If you're going to be doing other people's vehicles the smaller backing plate is certainly worth the investment in a little time.
