I would agree with the above quote but stuff happens…
Black mouldings with patches of white stains require a penetrating solvent (Groit’s Dried-On Wax Remover) to reach into the material's pores and dissolve dried residues. Vinyl and rubber cleaner/dressings (or peanut butter oils) may make the trim look better for a short period but the stains will return as the dressing wears off.
