Leaving my products for a few months.

Hey everyone, im leaving for college soon. I didn't have many detailing products last year so I didn't have to worry about this, but will it be alright to just leave them on the shelf in my room for months on end? I know some polishes separate but what about paste waxes and such?
 
Your products should be allright, assuming they aren't exposed to extreme heat/cold. If you get really concerned, perhaps vaccum sealing them in a "Food Saver" bag might be an option.
 
Along the same lines... what's the chances of a bunch of products ranging from wax to tire foam to glass cleaner lasting through the winter inside my car, inside a storage unit, in weather that can get down to -30? I know it can't be good for them, but I might have to do that to some of my stuff, as I moved from Wyoming to NJ, and the movers wouldn't move the detailing supplies. Just curious to see if it'd totally trash everything...
 
That's what I thought... so I am in the process of begging my parents to send me all the waxes, polishes, and quik detailers... mostly the expensive stuff that I don't feel like replacing, because most of the stuff is brand new or barely used. Plus I'd really like my Nxt Gen waxes. My mom is being hesitant because she's convinced you can't send car wax to someone, but I think I finally convinced her last night. I figure if she packs them really well in plastic bags and newspaper, and secures all the lids they should *hopefully* make it through the mail... eek.

Yeah. There is no way detailing supplies would make it through a winter in the Northeast if exposed to the elements. There should be no problem with your mom shipping you your stuff. The only issue is aerosol cans cannot be shipped air they must be shipped ground.



When your mom ships your stuff have here put tape around the gap between the bottle cap and the bottle. That will help to prevent leaking.
 
Does normal mail, sent just parcel post, go on airplanes? Anybody know? I want some of my aerosols... if not, I guess she could always use UPS ground.



Heh, my stuff is in Wyoming by the way... wayyyy worse than anything in the northeast during the winter. The days of negative 30 degrees is what got me worried about all my stuff. ;)
