Leather or Vinyl Steering Wheel - How to tell?

I have an 03 Alero that has a vinyl dash. I want to get the correct products for cleaning it and am unsure whether the steering wheel and shifter are leather, or vinyl.

The steering wheel has a hardish coating over whatever it is (not plastic or rubber) and the shifter is more material like.

Any ideas?

hmmm. i dont quite know how we can help u unless u show a pic. either way u could clean it and dress it the same way u would leather. just make sure to buff off the dressing well off the steerign wheel. i wouldnt want a slick steering wheel

Just a guess. Maybe you could clean with Woolite/Water and use Adam's VRT for protection. I have no clue as I haven't been in an Alero nor seen a picture of the inside. HTH.

Yea, I was looking at Poorboy's Natural Look, and I found that it is OK to use on leather or vinyl. I haven't checked Adam's yet, but it looks like what Jared mentioned would be the safest bet.

Don't discount the PB's NL. I have heard rave reviews about it as well and Steve is an A+ guy. I don't think you'd be going wrong with either choice.
