Just received my shipment for Leather Masters and had a few questions on how you guys use the product.



I picked up the LM Strong Cleaner, LM Leather Vital and LM Leather Protection Cream.



LM Strong Cleaner

- Do I use a damp sponge to apply?

- Do you dilute the strong cleaner?

- For heavy soiled leather and light leather cleaning, what mixture do you use for each?

- After applying and wiping off, do you rinse the area with a damp cloth?



LM Leather Vital and LM Protection Cream

- Do I use a damp cloth to apply?

- After applying, do you wait an hour then wipe off or just wait until completely dry?

- Do you rinse the area with a damp cloth after drying or just leave it alone?



Is there any possibility that these products may cause streaking or discoloration?



Sorry if these questions seem a little (or a lot) newbish (which I am), I don't want to screw up the leather in my car or my parents (I take care of their’s too)

LM Strong Cleaner should be used as a foam so either create a foam with a sponge or use a foaming bottle. This will give the safest, most effective clean. If used like this there is no need to dilute the product It would make no difference whether the leather was lighlt or heavily soiled as this is dealt with by dwell time of the product not the strength of the chemicals. For heavy soiling give more dwell time (only possible with a foam cleaner) and use a brush to aggitate the product into the grain pattern to help release the dirt. Remove the foam together with the dirt with paper towel or a terry towel, no need to rinse.



Apply the Protection Cream with a dry lint free cloth not a damp one. No need to do anything after applying just allow to dry which only takes a few minutes or use a hairdryer which actually helps the protector to work more effectively. There will be no excess to remove once dry as the residues left are what protect the leather and are not visible.

Then apply the Vital and once again allow to dry. No need to rinse etc.



They should not cause any streaking or discolouration (do not apply too much Protector or Vital as these are both thicker products that can streak if over applied)

Did a search and this old thread answered some of my question so I'll resurrect it - rise thread, rise.



So I see that I should produce a foam with the LM strong - which I've tried unsuccessfully to do with a sponge. Can some one point me to the correct method to make it foam with a sponge or link one of the foaming bottles that Judy mentioned?
 
I use a brush, one for polishing leather shoes. It's soft, works well and only a few dollars at target or walmart.

I could not get it to foam using a sponge either, I ended up using an old soap dispenser that had a foaming nozzle on it. It may be cheaper to just head to wally world and buy Bath and Body foaming soap versus buying online and paying for shipping. But if you wanna check out www.bottlesandfoamers.com maybe Amazon as well.
 
Ended up getting a foaming head for a 32 oz bottle when I was ordering some things from autogeek. Should be here in 3-4 days. I'll come back and tell how it works out.



As long as I'm back on this thread I'll ask another question. Who here uses the LM strong as a duster for monthly maintenance that it suggests on the bottle. I've tried it a couple of times and it uses a lot of the stuff. Someone suggested diluting it 3:1 (duh, wished I thought about that sooner). I could also use the regulare interior cleaner I have (OPT Leather protectant) but didn't know how well they'd play together.
