Leather Issue

I recently applied leather cleaner officially endorsed by Mercedes to be used on their cars. Its made my Meguires.



As soon as i rubbed it on my seats, the holes got filled with white creme. Not a good product.



Do you guys know of anything better?

How thick did you apply it?

As of late i have been using zaino Z10, i did a review in the reviews forum. I didnt have any problems with it clogging the perforations in my seats.
 
Several people have endorsed the Zaino for leather. Another product would be 303 Aerospace protectant. Use a damp sponge to clean you holes in the leather and a good shop vac would help.

///S320- I've put Connelly Hide Food (THICK creamy stuff) on perf'ed leather, so a lot of it is in how you apply it. I often apply it to the perf'ed areas using my bare hands. Apply it VERY sparingly, just enough to ensure uniform coverage. You really don't need much on there to keep the leather "nourished".





Haven't tried the Z, but most of the leather treatments I HAVE used are pretty thick. Guess I'd say to work on your technique a bit more first. BTW, I don't mean this as some slam, I've filled plenty of perforations over the years too. It's easy to overdo it, especially if your stuff's on an applicator. You'll get SOME in the holes no matter what you do.



Is Benz leather "coated" these days? If so, the 303 idea would be good. It's thin, but I'd still do the perf'ed areas with my bare hand.
 
I had the same problem with the Meguiars, I eventually gave up on the product and recently switched to Lexol. They softened the leather and left a natural looking finish. Doesn't smell great but the smell wears off in three days.



I've also heard good things about the Griots leather conditioner, I'll try that after the Lexol finishes.

Accumulator - what i really need is something that is not probably white in color. See, what i think is, if i get something that is more liquid in chemistry then being creme, it would probably not fill holes in the seats..



Do you or anyone know of anything that is more Hydra in nature?

///S320- Yeah, I'd say try the Lexol or the Griot's. The Griot's is a little thicker, less "watery" than the Lexol, but not bad at all. It's SLIGHTLY yellowish, not white. The Griot's smells like a leather store, the Lexol smells like, well, Lexol. But as MBZ 500E said, the Lexol smell fades pretty fast. I like them both, but I like the Griot's better. Pinnacle's stuff is pretty creamy, so I don't think you'd like that. But you're probably not going to find anything that's REALLY clear, thin, and watery so it's gonna be a compromise to some extent anyhow.

I have used the Zaino leather protectant. Some of it stayed in the little holes in the leather seats but it was soaked in after 5 minutes and nothing remained.
 
yeah, I had that problem on a 230 a while back. I just used less of the meg's conditioner and apply it with a foam-type pad. You'll still get a small amount in the holes, but it can be removed with some work.
 
I just treated my leather seats the other day with Meguiars. I thought it worked ok and yes, I did get some cream build up in the seams. My question is can this stuff damage the leather?

I've used the Meguiar's Gold Class Leather Cleaner and Conditioner. I don't know if it's the same thing. It has a really thick consitency and takes a lot of rubbing in and buffing off, even on unperforated leather. It gets into all the folds of the leather and doesn't come out. I've switched to the Zaino leather conditioner which goes on better and is thinner.
