I have a 2007 Malibu LTZ with Leather seats. Actually its 80% Leather and 20 percent Ultralux (Suede??) Its looks very similar to this except my Ultralux has tiny breather holes on it. As far as this leather goes what should I use to clean this leather? I know some leather as a type of plastic coating on it, so I am not sure what will work. We're not talking Mercedes or Cadillac Leather. I'm just not sure

I would just use a damp MF to wipe the fabric areas. For the leather, a mild cleaner on a regular basis is all you need. I use TOL's Deep Down. The key to maintaining leather is simply to wipe it down on a regular basis (bi-weekly), and protect once or twice a year.

Thanks for the reply. Do you have a link so I can buy the product? I assume they dont sell that in stores. I've never heard of it.



As far as a protector what do you reccomend? I'm trying to get my collection of detailing products all at once.
 
Go to Top of the Line.com. As for a protector, I use 303 on my customer's cars. Very easy to apply and has UV protection. If the residue is wiped off after application, it leaves a very natural looking finish.
 
Unless you are privy to info that I am not, there is no plastic coating applied to leather.:) As for a cleaner, you don't need anything to special. Eagle Ottawa recommends just a damp cloth. You could use a little mild detergent like a dishwashing liquid mixed with some water.
 
Wow! This makes about 5 leather threads going right now. Plus a whole lot more in the past. There's differing opinions, but also some consensus about which cleaners to use. I think you mean coated leather, which is what it is. Just use woolite diluted or one of the dedicated leather cleaners and on the fabric (suede look) treat it like cloth fabric (unless one of the experienced detailers here disagrees).
 
I think the suede people talk about here really is a material called alcantara. It's not leather or vinyl, more like a fabric. I have never cleaned this material so I am not sure how to treat it. But start carefully.

Are you talking about the 303 Aerospace Protectant? If so, I'm really liking that stuff.
