I need some help regarding leather care. I'm detailing the boss' 96 black/black Corvette soon and need help with what to use on the leather seats. Once before I saw a thread on treating leather and how to treat dyed vs. painted leather but can't find it and don't have a lot of time to search threads right now (I'm technically working). I believe the seats are the painted variety - if anyone knows more about what came stock in the 96 Vette I would appreciate your input. I've already read David's bits on leather but would like other input.

I would call a Vette dealer and ask them what the leather finish is.



If the leather is black then I would avoid Pinnacles leather conditioner as it seems to streak on black. I use Platinum Leather Conditioner for black and dark colored leather.



The best leather cleaner I have used to date is from Top of the Line and it is called "Deep Down".



If you have a "coated" leather finish you will get great results with another product from TOL called "Best Dressed" or Klasse's Protectant.
