leaf blower: lessons learned.

i believe they are synonyms, but i agree with your use of each word.

They are becoming so but, when I was in school and we were required to use Strunk & White, this was the example of wrong word usage. Of course, that was a long time ago now. ;)

it also irks me. i get the same feeling when you hear "anxious" used in place of "excited".

I still have a Toro Blower that I modified by cutting off half the nozzle and covering the edge in thick foam, and before I bring any vehicle in the garage for any work, I always make it a point to use said Blower to clean out the garage floor, etc., get it all blown off the driveway, and then bring the Client's vehicle in for any work, so that lessens the amount of stuff blowing around the garage from the floor in the first place.

I would also like to buy the Metro Blaster, but already have the same sized unit in the Metro Vacuum and thats all the budget can do at the moment. Maybe for my birthday?? :)

When you saying "cutting off", do you man blocking half the nozzle?

I'd like to do the sawed-off shotgon mod on my blower also. If i saw it down, not sure how to narrow the tip to increase the airspeed though. did you wrap the foam around the outside end of the nozzle?

1. dont use a gas leaf blower in a closed space. exhaust fumes make you feel nauseated. im sure it could potentially kill you, but i did not die.

Brilliant! :rofl:bigups:yourrock

+1 for living :-D never thought about using a leaf blower before, but they are slightly annoying to me...I'd be worried about kicking up more dust than actually drying my car haha
