Agree 100% with everything in your post.

Though I suspect that Trump doesn`t *really* have any concrete, workable plans for making America great again, he just can`t bring himself to get off the carnival ride now that it`s (unexpectedly) picked up momentum and how he`s said [all that stuff] so often that he believes it himself.

He is a salesman. The primary problem with the economy now is the middle class has been sold out by trade deals and Americans not willing to pay more so they basically dug their own graves. Obama should go on on a high note something his critics do not want to hear. They still defend Bush and as they did Nixon.
 
Defending Obama makes so much more sense. High note? Seriously? Is a high note one step above the basement floor? I see no problem with finding fault in former leaders. Let`s face it, you can look at any president and find faults, they`ve all screwed up, most while trying to do good things. Why however, is it that the liberals of today seemed to have lost their glasses in 2009? Only history can determine where a particular leader fits on the list of bests or WORST but that doesn`t mean people of the present can`t see who is in the running.
 
Many people said Jimmy Carter was a bad president. I still remember the tractorcades to DC. Now he is thought to be one of our better presidents and almost Saint worthy.

Going on almost 8 years ago, Dems were swooning over his Pitch in the aisles, no ???

I totally get why the entire country is now fed up with that disaster and are willing to give it a go with someone that might not be as good a Salesman as this guy has been... Geez....

On a high note???? Again, not sure where your scale starts, but I cannot think of one thing that would ever deserve a high note...
Perhaps all those visits from the Muslim Brotherhood and Al Sharpton to the White House ???

Really? I didn`t know anybody has changed their opinion of his Presidency. Everybody I know without exception, even the Liberal, (OK, heh heh..."people Accumulator knows" is not a very decent sample!) still thinks he`s a very nice person who wasn`t suited to that particular job in the least and that his election was merely a knee-jerk response to the whole Nixon era.

Eh, this particular Republican doesn`t defend Bush43 or Nixon any more than I esteem O.

I too am at a loss to see how O can go out on a high note as I can`t think of *one* thing he`s done that makes anything better instead of worse. Eh, maybe that`s because I`m not in his, uhm....favored/targeted demographic. Guys like me are apparently part of the problem in his opinion and his solutions to that problem are not in my best interest.
