I understand that view completely, and I gotta admit I have cognitive dissonance about this and will be giving it more thought. When something comes down to a choice between (pardon the following extreme hyperbole, which I kinda hate even using) "Hitler vs. Stalin" the whole "lesser of.." just sticks in my craw.
I still feel bad about how I voted for previous "lesser of" tickets. Eh, just a personal issue rattling around inside my head, sure don't mean to criticize anybody who pulls the lever for A B C and I can even grant the same understanding to anyone who feels "A B T" . Political viewpoints are one of those topics where *IMO* people can disagree without either side being right or wrong. Hey, I have friends who are genuine far-left Liberals (cap "L" intentional!) and friends who are on the other side of some other fences too...we just avoid the stuff we're never gonna agree on, plenty of other topics to concern ourselves with and it's not like the differing views make one of us a good/bad person.
There are some things about Kasich that I can buy but he's no friend to the 2nd Ammendment. That's a deal breaker for me.We're heading for a GOP brokered convention. Trump won't have enough delegates to get him over the top. I say Kasich is the guy they end up with and he'd make a great president. If it's Hillary and trump I am writing in another name.
So you're saying people that don't agree aren't bad people ?!?!?!?!?!?!?

Heh heh, I sometimes wonder if I'm the only guy here with friends who are left-of-center politically. And I mean genuine *friends*, people whom I esteem quite highly and whose company I enjoy. Heh heh#2, part of why I enjoy their company so much just might be the fact that we seldom discuss things like politics.
I think the notion that the two most hated and distrusted candidates in the race are leading their prospective parties...is a testament of how messed up we are as a country. Focus group after focus group don't want either Trump or Clinton, yet here we are. I was hoping in my lifetime I wouldn't have to vote for the lesser of two evils. Here we go again. So sad. Very sad.
I haven't followed it closely enough to know his precise postion (and I strongly disagree with his positions on a number of issues anyhow but would still vote for him)..though Ohio's gun laws aren't onerous under him the way they were under Democrat Governors. Heh heh, at least he's more pro-gun than HillaryBut then so is Sanders of all people! (well, relatively speaking..)
I find it interesting that Sanders isn't as hard-nosed about Gun Control as Hillary. I know, he's sure no fan of the 2nd Amendment (as some of us interpret it), but he's garnered all this far-left support while being more moderate about it than she is. Apparently the Democrat's candidate doesn't *NEED* to be anti-gun the way the Republican's candidate needs to be pro-gun. Of course Hillary has a boatload of reasons to deplore the private ownership of firearms, it just goes along with her worldview.
He's actually got a good rating from the NRA at the present time but heavily supported the 94 Assault Weapons Ban. He has softened his position on most GC issues. For me when I see politicians change as the winds blow I have a hard time finding respect for them. That said, it also means the NRA changes with the political winds, they're obviously more forgiving than me. Like Kasich says, he's the architect. He can build it anyway he wants to spin it.I haven't followed it closely enough to know his precise postion (and I strongly disagree with his positions on a number of issues anyhow but would still vote for him)..though Ohio's gun laws aren't onerous under him the way they were under Democrat Governors. Once Hillary gets the nomination she will pull far right..
At least they're finally being upfront and honest about us peasants not meaning squat
