there have been a lot of very good things said about the lake country variable contact pads(or similar...other brands). I was just curious about them becuase it seems strange to me the the center would be curved inward while the edges are curved out?? it seems like the only part that would be touching the paint is where the tranistion is?? Does this make sense? Im sure they work good just curious as to how?? The pictures are just confusing me. I currently use megs flat pads. Thanks

Have them, Love them! I was always really confused to about these. The pads usually squish down a little bit so there is more bad touching on the paint but the whole pad face inst touching. So its hard to explain how they work but I know they do!!

The concave bottom of the pad creates a pocket to reduce sling when polishing. This is the purpose of the pad shape.

i was just doing a little more research and came across the curved edge full contact pads from PAC (81/2 and 71/2), what is the difference/benefits of these versus the LC variable contact pads ( Ive heard there both made by LC) ???? too many choices.

Which pads are you all using for your rotary and how do you like them? Maybe this can clear up a few things for some people wanting to purchase rotary pads ( I hope im not the only one confused) ...Thanks
