LC pads....

When does one know that they need to throw out a pad??? I am not sure I should get new ones or keep using one?

How many times can one use an LC pad?? When should they be replaced???

I keep mine for other purposes (cut up for hand polishing). I know mine are dead when it keeps flinging off foam during a polish and when the felt stuff on the back folds in on itself :)

I get about 20-25 washes out of my orange cutting pads, about the same for the whites. The blues and greens and reds, well, I dont think they wear out nearly as fast, so I think that I will be keeping these in the cycle for a while!

its the cutting pads that need to be replaced more often

I just bought some LC CSS (CCS?) pads. Do you wash them by hand or in the washing machine?

IME:

Cutting pads wear and become less aggressive. They can suffer velcro failure if you really lean on the machine a lot.

Polishing pads eventually either suffer velcro failure or lose chunks of foam.

Finishing pads *eventually* suffer velcro failure but it can take a long, long time (years). I've used some LSP-application/finishing pads for nearly a decade!

I wash all my pads by hand using Dawn Power Dissolver or MF detergent.

I have this strange feeling that you're going to tell me that one of my pads are worn out.

Don't mind the difference in height, by the way. Sometimes these things arrive in different thicknesses.

I think the one on the right needs to be replaced...hahaha j/k

I have a few that are like that, but they get cut into 4 and are used for hand polishing now
