LC foamed wool pad

Was thinking of picking one of these up.

Was wondering how well it works with the forced-rotation machines

(Festool---Flex).

Any insight on this would be appreciated.
 
gusbubba- I used one with the Flex for part of my pal's '60 Jag. It worked fine but I needed something more aggressive for spots so I probably didn't fully exploit its capabilities (had to concentrate my efforts on small areas more than the 6.5" PFW would really do).



It was like people always say: cuts about like orange foam, but cooler. Finishes about the same (PFW never finishes out as well for me as it does for some people :nixweiss ).



The Flex seemed hard on the PFW, enough so that I'd get more than one.



I dunno, I ended up using other pads for most of that job, but not because there was anything wrong with the PFW. It was just me, at that moment, on that car...
 
Accumulator, accounting for the variables and setting them aside, in general, do you feel that you get better cut from a yellow pad (or traditional heavy cut foam pad)?
 
I guess it matters what you're trying to correct. It may just work for you.

It's also cheap so why not try it?



For what i do - wetsand/polish - a wool pad needs to cut/level 2000 grit efficiently.

It's the most important pad (for me) and the PFW, as Accumulator stated, isn't

aggressive enough. Actually, it's been the worst. The LC Durawool is also terrible;

good for a few passes then it's gets too dense. But their foam pads are excellent.





I thought all wool pads were more or less the same (tried many). Until...

At the moment (thanks to David!!) i'm enamored with these wool pads.

Can't say enough about 'em. Almost ripped off my clothes and did buttnaked back flips.

Liked it so much on my rotary that i went and bought another one.

Wow, that's one hell of an endorsement!

...and these were used on a forced rotation machine?



Anyone else have the urge for nude gymnastics after using one of these?
 
I wasn't impressed the first few times I used PFW on my Makita, but I bought a bunch of them so I guess I'll keep playing around with them and see if they do any better in the future, with different products.

I do seem to get better cut with very aggressive foam pads, but they're a whole lot riskier than the PFW.



If a PFW won't do the job, I'd rather use some more aggressive wool. Yellow foam just isn't my preferred way of doing most jobs.



I do think it's good to have some Meg's 7006 pads on hand though, for some reason they simply *WORK* on some paints :nixweiss Otherwise for really aggressive work I'd go with wool.
