Layering zaino

What I mean by this is that the chances of missing the same spots during a secondary application is minimal. This second application would "momentarily" disruptive to the first application (coat) curing but will not effect the final bonded and cured cumulative coatings which in reality is only "1" layer.

Remember that the finish is has a maximum of bonding sites. When these sites are "filled" there is no place for any more product to bond. The benefit of ZFX's immediate curing is the re-establishment of new bonding sites - the sealant itself that now coats the finish.

Hope this helps and isn't too confusing.

I'm not sure that is entirely correct. Z5pro has filling ability and will fill those valleys in the paint-to an extent. A second layer should also bond over a previous layer (and fill). A third layer(Z5P or Z2P) should also bond over the second layer(and fill). An occasional application of Z8 will restore gloss and add additional protection.

Since I dont see any mention of Z1 being used and ZFX was not used on the first application, how long is the durability without one of the bonding agents being used? (I couldnt tell if you used ZFX in the first application).

Also can you expect good bonding if you use ZFX after you have put on a coat of Z w/o ZFX?

It has been my experience that the ZFX only cross links your checking account. I can't justify paying 20 bucks for 30Ml of blue fluid. If it was so great they should mix it with the Z2Pro from the factory and charge 8 bucks extra for the bottle. Oh wait, I forgot that you can't let the mixture sit for more than 12 hours or else the special micro activators will turn your wax into jello (whatever) I have used Zaino with and without the ZFX and I can't see or feel any appreciable difference. I wax my car almost every weekend so the 12-24 hour cure time isn't a problem. I have also not noticed any difference in drying time between the two methods. Zaino is a great sealer/shine enhancer but too many people fall for all the marketing hype. My humble opinion is to save your money.

If you're applying Zaino every weekend you won't see any difference as your never going to test durability. You would have to do a long term test of ZFX'd Z2P vs unZFX'd ZPro to truly find out if ZFX really works.

ZFX was created for specific reasons target users of the Z system and is NOT a requirement for the use of the Zaino system. No one is forced to purchase this item. Z1 is available and seems to be more for the detailer that enjoys applying or hi-lighting their vehicle frequently. Not that durability changes greatly but more cost effective if applying every week or so just for the thrill and relaxation of detailing one's vehicles.

For the difference of ~$10 more than Z1, the ZFX advantages / features are quite worth it to me. My calculation of value includes the value of my time and personally I do not have time nor desire to wax/seal my vehicles every week or so. I use a 15 minutes Z8 session for that.

Actually, I believe it is a wonderful value that one can choose how they plan to use the system. ZFX - one or multiple coats in one day or Z1 for initial application and single coats thereafter. :xyxthumbs

Just a few thoughts and my $.02. :wavey

ZFX is not needed just use Z-1 on the first coat then on the third coat lay down another layer of Z-1 then one of the polishes then remove. Every 4 months put another Z-1 then Z-2 there you go.
