layering EX?

hi all!

i recently joined the detailing community and have been trying the following combination(s) on a seal-gray (darker metallic silver):

* UPP + Natty's
* EX-P + Natty's
* EX

while i like UPP a little better than EX-P in both, usability & looks, i must say that i fell in love with just EX as a standalone. this product is so easy to use, remove and the look that it produces on the seal-gray is just amazing. no other combination can touch it.

EX doesn't get mentioned that much here. i wonder why that is? is it possible to layer EX? i am concerned that the fact that there is wax in it, inhibits bonding between layers?

so, is there anyone out there still using EX? layering?

any info welcome,
thanks - this forum is great!

Sure there are a lot of people using EX still. It truly is a great product and it's no surprise that you like it a lot. Most people seem to like the pure sealants, but different strokes for different eyes. From what I understand it is layerable. But I cannot give you a for sure on that. I have been using EX for a while now. My eye is very picky, so not a lot of things look different to me, especially layering a product. So I can't tell you if I have ever acheived layering with EX.

I have layered it several times with great results. I waited a week between layers each time and the results seem to get even better with the 2nd layer.

I use both EX and EX-P. My preference depends upon the color of the car. I generally like EX on darker and solid colors.

I don't think EX can truly be layered, but a second coat seems to look better due to more complete and even coverage.

That's why I'm doing 2 on my Legend tomorrow. :)

(No curing time in between though-just doing it to insure even coverage.)

Megs # 80 with 1 coat of EX. I put the 2nd coat on Saturday but then it snowed.. Tomarrow will be QEW the Souveran :D
