Tractor Detailer
This is a 2004 John Deere Grain Planter. It is pulled behind a tractor and plants any type of seeds (corn, soybean, wheat). The owner noticed it was getting filthy and faded. When a machine like this costs $40,000 keeping it looking new is a good idea. All I had to wax was the big flat areas, used something special on the rest.

Process was

Wash DG CWC Foam Gun
Dry with NC sun.
Color-X with rotary @1500rpm's wool Makita pad.
Majestic Solutions Spray Shine final wipe
Dress tires/wheels/frame with MS Poly dressing.

This was a super super fun detail, and I am supposed to be doing that tractor in the pics next week.

Did you dress the pneumatic hoses? They look great and add to the presentation. If not, you cleaned them good!

I love seeing these types of details i.e. different applications of the skills and vocation we call detailing. As we all know, vehicle detailing is growing in momentum with increased print articles, internet exhuberance and a general increase in public awareness of the detailing world. Here's another example of widening the perspective on the benefits of what we do. Thanks for sharing and nice job!

Yeah, I dressed the hoses.

Like I said, when these things new are $40,000, it makes sooo much sense to detail one.

We don't detail farm equipment, but we wash a lot of it at the end of the season. If they can get it near the water source we can get it clean everything from peanut combines to tractor and planters.
Last year we washed 20 peanut combines like this one.

Great job on the planter.Check around for farm auctions and you can put some serious $$$ in your pocket.Clean equipment brings top dollar at auction.

What a great KMC peanut combine! What's it being pulled by?

Yeah, I have a couple of contracts with some farmers for detailing tractors and big-rigs, but I do need to get with some auction sites. The only thing is that I dont carry my own water/electric, so that limits my availability to the market.

We see a lot of 8000 series John Deere tractors in our part of the country.Wheat combines have made a big come back in south Ga. this year also.
The bigger they are the more $$$ we charge to get them clean. We charge 2 different ways when we set up for farm equipment washing.
1. Pay by the piece
2. Pay by the day(most cost effective for the farmer since it's a set price for 8 hrs and we wash as much as they can bring to us)
