Lapis Blue 997 C4S Coupe

Evening All.



Been swamped with life, did this beaut a couple weeks back for the third time in its life. Eclipsing 30k miles, this one is surely driven, as it should be. Starting to show a little wear on some of the clear bra, but overall, car is in great shape. And by the way, been playing with my new Tamron lens . My finals were:



- Dawn Wash

- Turtle Wax ICE via Gilmour to foam

- Zaino Z18 Clay with Turtle Wax ICE foam as lube

- TOL Tire Cleaner cut 1:1 on tires, wells

- P21s Wheel Cleaner on wheels, exhaust tips



- HTEC via rotary and LC Purple Foamed Wool Pad @ 1500rpm on scratches

- M105 via rotary and LC Purple Foamed Wool Pad @ 1200rpm on paint

- Zaino Z-PC via PC and LC Green German Polishing Pad @ 6

- Zaino Z-AIO and #0000 Steel Wool on exhaust tips

- Rinse, Foam, Rinse



- Zaino Z5 Pro (ZFX'd) on paint, glass

- Zaino Clear Seal on wheels, exhaust tips



- Zaino Z16 on tires, wells x 2

- Leatherique Black Rubber Dye on trim (still testing, will review in the coming weeks)

Great shot of the hind quarter! I'm so used to seeing a wide focal length shot that it's nice to see someone use a 50mm+ lens. There's just less perspective distortion and I think it brings the attention to the car.

Great detail work and nice color. Porsche really got it right with the 997 design, I never liked the front of the 996.

Lapis Blue is definitely one of my favorite Porsche colors. I am detailing a Lapis Blue TT in the next few weeks... Can't wait!

OrangeStang: AGREED! I never liked those wheels, still do nothing for me and for the car, for that matter. I've worked on one with the thin-multi spokes that look perfect. This 997 needs nice wheels and a mild drop and its perfection.



Rick: It's a fun colour. I take care of 3 Lapis 911s, all seem to get swirled up, but all clean up pretty easily, and look wonderful when clean.
