GOT PREP?
After a few weeks of working on stuff like this:

It was nice to detail something like this.

The owner will be installing a clear bra soon and wanted the paint to as perfect as possible. There are still a few deeper, isolated scratches, but the paint is now ready for clear bra installation. Of all the vehicles that I detail, his are always the most swirl-free.

I used 3M perfect-it III rubbing @1500 RPM’s with a Meguiars polishing pad, then 3M perfect-it III machine glaze with a Meguiars polishing pad via PC/cyclo (two people working), then wiped down with Z6, and sealed with ZFX enabled Zaino Z5PROâ€â€the hood and front ¼ panels were not sealed as they will be covered in clear film. The tires wear Meguiars hyper dressing, interior was vacuumed, and then wiped down with Meguiars interior QD, the motor was wiped down with QD.

The next car was in pretty rough shape in terms of swirls, but the interior wasn’t too bad. The process was to first wash, clay, and clean the door jams—this took 2.5 hours with the wheels taking up the majority of that. I then buffed the paint with Hi-temp extreme cut/optimum polish (50/50) with a Meguiars polishing pad @1500 RPM’s, 3M PI-III machine glaze with a Meguiars polishing pad @1400 RPM’s, and then Menzerna final polish via PC at speed 6. I wiped down with Z6, and then applied two thin coats of ZFX enabled Z5PRO. The wheels also got the same treatment in terms of sealing. The tires are dressed with Meguiars hyperdressing.

The interior was vacuumed, then shampooed and extracted. I steamed the crevices, wiped everything down with Meguiars interior QD, and finally protected the seats with an application of Lexol. I polished all wood with Klasse All-In-One.

Before:

Not too bad, right?

After:

This was taken just after polishing—before sealing:

I was losing light by the time I was finished, and I completely suxors at taking pics. So, this is what I captured in auto.

Whoa! Sweet cars, and details!

I think I have seen that Lambo before. Is it parked outside that speed/custom shop (Xtreme, I think?) in Bartlett, near East End Grill? I saw it parked outside there one weekend, and I pointed it out to my wife as we drove by. She could care less, as I was in awe. Love that car!!! I was like..."look! look! a new Lamborghini!!!!" She was..."oh, ok." :D Don't see these around M-town too much...

Great work!

Regards,

Mike

That's the one, I seem to do *a lot* of work for them. :D It's really nice because I know the bar tender at East End--finish up, go have a chat with her and enjoy a free beer. :D

Thanks guys!!

:bow to the master!

Lucky to work on that Lambo :). She sure is stunning.

Did the SL have Ceramiclear paint?

Thanks man!! LOL

I did not check the VIN, but it sure didn't act like it--fairly easy to correct.

Bbasso, that wouldn't interfere with the clear bra bonding? I thought it had to be clean--wiped with IPA?
