Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder dressed in very rare Rosso Vik Red

Yesterday I had the opportunity to detail this 2007 Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder in a very rare and brilliant Rossa Vik Red. Another very tasteful detail on this supercar was the custom one off black chromed wheels which really made this Lamborghini look awesome.

As you will notice in the photos, the vehicle had moderate circular and extensive fine hairline scratches all over. It was extremely filthy from the wheel wells to the tires, rims and calipers. The current owner has never had it properly detailed, it just gets wiped down by him with a California Duster. The first thing I told him to do after my service was to throw that sad looking duster away!

I chose to give this Gallardo a HYBRID prep since the owner said it had never been washed with water and he preferred that. So with that said I only pressure washed and cleaned the inner wheel wells, tires, wheels (Inner barrels incl.) and lowers of vehicle all the way around (Including the hex shaped grills all the way around). Once this was completed I pulled the vehicle inside and gave it a complete light mist of Last Touch. After the vehicle was lightly saturated to encapsulate the dirt, I proceeded to prep the vehicle washing it with ONR.

The vehicle then recieved a thorough claying with Blue Mist, first pass with D/A and a 4" LC white polishing pad with M205 followed by 2 passes of M21 with the D/A and a 4" LC blue finishing pad.....Exhaust was cleaned and polished with Meguiar's All Metal Polish, wheels were also coated with M21 and tires and wheel wells protected with Stoner Trim Shine.

These are some before photos showing the paint defects

Thank you for viewing my post.....Have a great day!

Looks great...

Don't take this the wrong way but how much correction did you achieve?

Only reason I ask is because there are no direct comparison sun shots (like the pics taken to highlight the defects) and also because your process seems very mild for hard lambo paint...

Looks nice under that lighting, but what about direct sun light after shots? or at least some 500W halogens to show the perfect paint??

Love that color it is perfect on that car.

M205, really? I just did a Rosso Vik LP640... hands down the hardest clear I have worked on. Did you find DA sanding scratches from the factory, most modern Lambo's have them.

David,

Awesome as always!!!

Great talking with you tonight and I look forward to a visit this summer. Dont' be afraid to save one of those details for my visit!! :)

Your advice is helping me improve my own process and technique and I look forward to using the Blue Mist- with luck, it'll be your best seller!

Keep me posted Rob

Awesome job! What kind of tire dressing did you use? I have P-zeros on my car (not a Lambo unfortunately) and when I see someone detail something that I have on my car I like to add it to my list of products.
