Lambo!

But if he had lambo doors, it would be rice?

yes, lambo doors on anything but a lambo is lame. those are not even "lambo" doors. lambor doors dont need to be swung out, then up. they go straight up

Did I miss something, when did Toyota stop using inline 4's on the celica?:)

Great detail, especially on the interior.

i think they still do use 4 poopers. like 170hp but only 100 ft-lbs torque and that is at like 7.5k-8k RPMs

Excellent detail Steve! Your interiors are always top notch, not to mention your exteriors. I own a domestic but I say to each his own, I don't think the Celica looks that bad. As for the lights ever think that one pair is for the fogs and one is for the driving lights?

Also replying and quoting is fine but do I need to see the same photo three times in posts? No I don't as I can scroll back. Think about the guys on dialup (I'm not one of them) before you post the lovely pic of the winged wonder again and again.

Scottwax - Thanks for posting that Scott, needed my laugh for the day.

Denzil - Nope not ricer, very sharp Integra. I'd say your mods were all tastefully done!

So let's all play together nice or the mods will be shutting down this thread.

180hp and 133 ft-lbs torque. Most of the power is between 6000 and 8000 rpm (lift). And it only weighs 2500lbs. With an intake pretty close to your stock 4.6L ford as far as acceleration goes (if it's a convertible stang, don't expect to win a drag). Only problem is you have to keep the revs up to go fast, not so good from a stop.

Nice work on the detail Steve :xyxthumbs

I think Lambo doors only belong on Lambos :nono

If they didn't have the Lambo doors, it won't be too bad. Also if hes going to clear his side markers, he should also clear the inner markers too ;) I use to see an E36 with the "christmas tree effect" on his car. Every light, blinker, etc. was a different color on top of altezzas

pseudo Lambo doors on a Celica + wimpy engine = RICE :sign Period, end of discussion, next topic on the agenda.

With that settled, great work on the interior :xyxthumbs Nice touch taking out the seats and lifting up the carpeting :)

Good job Buick_guy, err, uh, I mean ScubaStevo :p

call me crazy...and I'm not one to magazine race...but those celica's supposedly run 0-60 in the low 7's and a 1/4 mile in the low to mid 15's. That might hang with an automatic 94-98 GT convertible, but that's about it.

The 99+ GT's will walk all over that. They easily run a 1/4 mile in the 14's, bone stock.

I don't understand why people insist on talking about how ricey the car is. To tell you the truth I couldn't care less. As far as his mods go, I couldn't care less. This thread is supposed to be about the detail, not how ricey the car is.

Thank you to everyone that at least mentioned the detail.:xyxthumbs

you brought up the mods in the title , it think you did anyway

It was a joke. 1 time thing. Not Like I'm continually going on about how ricey it is. ;)

PS, damn this new LCD screen is wicked. :)

And don't forget the stock altezzas and 4 inch exhuast . God I hate that grocery getter....such a grandma's car.

In all seriousness...hell no it isn't...but the tail lights have to be changed to Evo VII style...all red :).

Thank you for the kind comments Paul.

I think all new cars are going to evolve into rice... :p

Just look at the wave of cars nowadays... they're all evolving into some sort of futuristic cars... but I do love the new Corvette... mmmmm... oh and can't forget about the TC, G35, 350Z, etc... :xyxthumbs

Steve - Excellent comments, you're right on the money! You expressed my thoughts exactly.

Denzil - You're very welcome. All the cars you mention I love. Saw the new Eclipse commercial last week and thought that there's a car that looks like something out of a sci-fi film. Very smooth and curvy. Nothing against the '05 model but it looks too laden with added on plastic ala the Grand Am.

Magazine racing in a celica gts is worse than most because to get the most out of the car you need to go right up to fuel cut off which is at 8400rpm, while the redline is at 7800rpm. Going this extra 600rpm will keep you in lift (above 6000rpm) when you shift and will make the 0-60 much faster. Magazines only go to redline when testing. A convertible stang will probably beat a stock celica, but with an intake (I know, not fair for one car to be modded) would be pretty close, would probably depend on driver. There have been stock celicas mid-high 14's in the quarter (with good drivers). Stock for stock mustang should always win, just not by as much as some domestic lovers think.

I'm not trying to be an ***, but the motor has been safely revved to 8600 with an apexi PFC (engine management that allows you to change fuel cutoff point). The motor can easily handle that rev range. I'm just trying to inform you about the car and it's capabilities - I love mustangs too, and I'll admit I don't know all that much about them. It just seems that a lot of people really look down on celicas don't know how fast it CAN be in the hands of a capable driver. I'm not saying it's a great idea to rev the crap out of your car past redline to get faster. I'm saying that it's a proven fact that the stock 2ZZGE is very capable of running in the 8000's without any worries about detonation/bent valves/etc. Not a lot of cars can rev that high but this one can.

BTW - LouisanaJeeper I like your car.
