Lake country pads question

Hey guys,

Ive been using the 7.5 VC lake country pads and was thinking of buying some more, however at some of online retailers, the pads have a blue trim around the where the backing plates go. Are these any different or just comestically updated?

The only thing different about them is that they have a blue foam ring. I have heard complaints from people that don't like the ring because it holds lot of water and makes the pad harder to get dry after washing.
