Erazer (largest supplier of clay in the US) makes a 228 gm and 448 gm bars.

Clay Magic, Zaino some Pinnacle and Erazer clays all come with their own case(s).

I seriously doubt it's "mixed" clay. It's probably the same clay with different color dyes. Clay is not a multipurpose item, it's either mild cut or agressive cut.

Shape of the clay does not mean anything and plays no role in the performance of the product itself. When using clay you should be re-kneeding the clay after every few passes anyway.

Just about every product I can think of has a return policy if your not happy with it.

Here are my questions:

Why is being shaped in the shape of a circle better than a rectangle? Isn't clay able to be molded?

Why is 250 grams better than other sizes? You shouldn't need to use the whole bar at once. You are supposed to cut it down into managable sizes. 250 would be to large to work with since you need to fold it.

Most clays that are larger sizes have casess for them. Pinnacle even gives you a jar to keep them in. Clay magic gives you a case for the 200 gram bar. I would imagine that Zaino has some sort of case too although I may be wrong.

What is the benefit of having mixed clay?

Pinnacle, Zaino, and Clay Magic all have satisfaction policies. They may not need to post them on their websites because they get fewer complaints. I'm always leary of people offering money back guarantees. That is implying that you might have problems with it. Its like getting a 100,000 mile waranty with your car. That just says that things are likely to go wrong and they know it.

I'm not saying that this clay doesn't do the job that clay is supposed to do. If you are going to review it then you should add points that we question about clay. Like how well did it handle the lube? Did it get saturated? Did it crumble? How easy to mold (although if you are using the whole 250 grams then you probably wouldn't be able to tell us that one)? Did it work well in the cold? Was it sticky? Things like that. The size and the box are really irrelevent for the purpose we use it for.

Edit: Cutting up the bar is common sense, dude. You shouldn't need to be told to cut it up. Do you need someone to tell you not to put a whole stick of butter on your baked potato or are you smart enough to realize that you don't need to use that much? I would be very suprised to discover that they don't recommend to cut it down into managable pieces somewhere in their documentation. Usually if you need to buy a 250 gram bar you are a professional who knows better than to use the whole bar. They shouldn't have to tell you to cut it up.

The box easy storage. The mothers does not have this. Are you suppose to cut it down? mmmmm seems some people do that. But are you SUPPOSE to? Don't remeber reading that on the directions, to cut the clay. I was just stating what I know. The clay is black and white. Zebra stripes. The statement satisfaction is nice to know, that if for any reason your not satisfied return it. It's comforting to have one than not. As I have said, some are personal preference issues. The ones above about the size, shape, guarentee, and case are those type of issues. Funny how you mentioned Erazer, pinnacle, Zaino, and clay magic. You mentioned them because the Z-bar carries all the characteristics. The other clay bars only might contain one characteristic where as the Z-bar has all of them in one Bar. Big size, case, good or your money back. So if someone likes these preferences and does not want to buy all the bars you mentioed this is also the bar for them. I will post details on actual performance after another bowl of rice and cerial.

They would not have to buy ALL those bars.

Maybe this thread should be closed. Knight we are always interest in new products but to state that something is the best is a:nono here. There is nothing wrong with discovering some product that seems to out perform anything else YOU have tried and stating such but this should be done in a more analytical manner. This may well be a very good product that is being dragged over-the-coals because of it's initial presentation. Maybe delete your first review and re-submit. :nixweiss

There are no "best" here at Autopia.:wavey

just wondering why the class is ganging up on knight ?????

Its because of the blanket statements. Statements he has been warned about because they always cause problems like this. Opinions need to be shared carefully. We have lost several members because they weren't able to present opinions in a tactful manner. This is yet another thread that has to be closed for this exact reason. :down
