Here are 2 of my 3 labor day projects. I detailed a black 2002 Chrysler Concorde LXI too, but haven’t loaded up the pics yet.
First up. I applied a second coat of Finish Kare #218 sealer on my STS using my PC and a finishing pad. I don’t think I used an ounce of product on the entire car.
The silver paint just glows with this product!

Next up is my neighbors 2002 Chrysler Mini-Van. I’ve been putting this one off all summer. Just like his Grand Prix, this baby sits outside 24 x 7 J. He dry washes it a few times a week with a dirty rag & cali-duster. The paint was as swirled as anything I’ve ever been faced with.
Our morning process: (4 hours)
-Wash (Megs Next Gen)
-Poorboys Bug Squash (I wish I had some before shots to show how effective this product is). Rinse, spray, let it dwell for 3-5 min, and wipe off with your wash mitt. For really stubborn stains you might have to re-apply.
-Optimum Clay
-Poorboys APC on the tires & wheels
-BnB on the tires
-Trim Restore on the door handles & molding
-Poorboys Leather Conditioner/Cleaner on all of the door seals.
-APC & OCW on the door jams.
Next up was the interior, which could have replenished my son’s sandbox.
We started out by removing all of the seats –including the front seats that are bolted to the frame from underneath the van.
-The mats were cleaned with Poorboys APC mix 6:1 x 2
-Shop vac’d the carpets
-Compressed air on the carpet, vents, etc..
-APC 6:1 mix on the carpets.
-Steam Buggy on the carpet stains (A gallon of apple juice broke open on a trip home from the grocery store a week earlier)
-#40 on the interior plastic.
We removed about 80% of the really bad stains. It actually cleaned up better than I thought it would.
On the paint I used (3 hours):
-Optimum Compound & orange pads via cyclo. X 2 on the flats. This effectively removed the swirl marks. There were several deep scratches on most every panel that were levelled down some, but still present from 5 feet away. This was a free job, so I decided to focus on cleaning vs. trying to focus on all of the paint defects. I’m not trying to cop out, but having a defect free finish just wasn’t a priority or concern for my neighbour.
-4* UPC via rotary @ 1500 RPM x 1. I really like this product, especially when using UPP. It leaves a very clean, reflective base, and it’s very easy to work with and remove.

The after shots aren’t very good. I finished up around 7pm, and the lighting was pretty poor at that point.
