Kudos to Blitz!

I just wanted to say that it's awesome. I recently finished the last of my Meguiar's #26 and needed a replacement wax. I decided to try Blitz. I can't tell you how glad I am.

Blitz is totally awesome! It is clearly better than #26. When you open a can of #26 (or a can of Mother's Pure Carnuba, for that matter), the wax flakes like crazy. If the can is hot, some of the wax will be in paste form, some of it will be in flake form, and some of it will be in liquid form. You need to stir the applicator around to get the wax into a consistent state, but even then it still flakes when you apply it to your paint.

Blitz is different. Opening the can reveals a simple, pristine cake of wax.

Application is much smoother. Blitz soaks right into the applicator and flows easily off the pad and onto your paint. You don't need to press on the applicator at all.

It also buffs off very easily. Buffing off wax always demands patience, but Blitz is simply easier than most other waxes.

The shine is what really makes it great. Immediately after applciation, the shine isn't that impressive. It just as good- neither better nor worse- as #26. But wait- look at the shine one week later. It looks as if it were just applied! It's just as deep and vibrant as it was when you last waxed.

Also, and interestingly, the car doesn't seem to get as dirty over the course of the week.

The two disadvantages of Blitz are: a) its residue is bright white, which makes it more noticeable than the yellow residue of most other waxes, and b) it attracts dust like crazy. However, I found that a QD cut down on the dusting a lot. I used Show-Off for the QD (picked up a bottle of it at the local Blitz distributor- only a few blocks from my in-laws' home!).

I also used Blitz on my wheels, and thus far, they don't seem to be dusting as badly as then usually do. I'll keep everyone advised.

I am totally convinced of the merits of Blitz. I used quality waxes before. They are good, but I really love Blitz. I can't believe how well this stuff works!

Add one more disadvantage of Blitz...

The price. It makes people believe it's a cheap or inferior wax! I swear, if they put it in a lexan block shrouded in a silk bag @$119 a can they'd sell the hell out of it to those who think you gotta spend grip to get a good wax. I think Zymol already took that marketing strategy, though;-)

Blitz is the best wax i have ever used. Are there better waxes out there, sure, mabee a few, but fwom the few i have tried it offers the best combo of awesome shine and durability.

I swear its like buttering a car. I can cover the jetta in fifteen minutes. Actually, once I'm done layering SG and have started the Blitz process I almost always put a coat on after each wash just b/c its so easy to use. Sometimes its the whole car, sometimes its just the horizontal surfaces. I know there are better waxes looking out there (darn pinnacle products ;)) that don't stain, but not for my car when its sitting outside 24/7.

Blitz is definitely one of my favorite waxes. It is a must for my area as I live in a very hot climate. It's durability is one of the things that I most like about it.

With regards to applying Blitz on wheels, I would think that you would be much better off applying a sealant on your wheels. Klasse Sealant Glaze, Finish First or Z-2 would be better options as they are much more durable and can withstand much greater heat. No contest! Laters
