KSG Question - Layering

I remember hearing something about KSG taking 12 hours to harden before you could put another layer of KSG on top.

Is that true?

Does that rule only apply to 2nd layers of KSG? In other words, could i put a coat or two of Souveran on top of a fresh layer of KSG or do I have to wait 12 hours for that too?

Many recommend waiting a week or 2 before applying anything on top of SG... on my own car, I apply 3 layers of SG, 12-24 hours apart (sometimes longer if time doesn't allow it) and then I apply P21S at the next wash, about a week or so later

Back when I was topping SG, I followed the same rule as for layering: about 24 hours of cure time before anything goes on top of the SG.

Applying layers of SG back to back, or waiting 24hours between applications resulted in no appreciable difference in shine or lifespan.

When adding other products on top of it, I'd personally be inclined to wait a day. But that's nothing more than gut feeling.

I researched this subject a bit and as a result of foxtrapper's posts, I find myself putting down 3 layers back to back. It didnt make it any harder, and I swear that I could see a difference. Whether I saw a difference, or it was just my mind trying to justify the extra work....:nixweiss I guess the only way to find out is to try it yourself.

Suggestion for experiment (for those who care ;) ): Gently apply some KSG over bit of dirt/contamination/etc. (something that the KSG almost cleans off through solvent action). Do this in two separate places. Then test immediate reapplication vs. delayed reapplication on both areas. Do the reapplications aggressively, try to "scrub off the covered contamination". See if the either reapplication cleans through the first application and down to the contamination.

My experiences: I've spotted areas where I'd accidentally KSGed/UPPed over some contamination. If I immediately reapplied these products they cleaned the stuff off pretty easily (well, it took a *little* effort, more aggressive scrubbing than I'd usually want to do), so I assumed they affected a solvent action on the previously applied product; after letting it set up for a day subsequent applications of these products did not go through to the contamination so I assumed that there was a difference (of *some* magnitude, I'm not saying it's a big deal). Based on this, I'm still letting my LSPs "cure" for about a day before reapplying.

Regulars here might notice the similarity between the above test and my "claying through LSPs" test ;)
