Knowledgeable Computer People: RAM question

One easy way to find the correct type of memory is to use the Crucial memory scanner. It will scan your system and tell you in detail the type you need. They sell very high-quality memory but usually more expensive than if you shop around.

The memory scanners, or configurators, or whatever the stores call them are very helpful for getting the right memory. If Newegg had one I would not have bought the wrong ones. I have gotten some good deals on memory cards for the digital camera from Newegg though.

I ordered my correct sticks from Kahlon, 33 bucks each.

HP recommends Crucial for memory upgrades.

I got the new, correct sticks today and just installed them. Now I have 512Mb RAM at last. Everything looks good and the computer is even faster.

Hopefully I can save someone reading this from buying the wrong memory sticks. It pays to go through a configurator on a good memory seller's site.
